Methodist Central Hall Westminster Hosts Service of Remembrance with ‘Saying Goodbye' Charity,

On Sunday, 24th November 2024 Methodist Central Hall Westminster, (MCHW) held a moving Service of Remembrance for those who have experienced the loss of a baby, at any stage of pregnancy, birth, or infancy. The service, conducted in partnership with the charity ‘Saying Goodbye,’ provided a sacred space for reflection, healing, and community support.

Baby loss affects hundreds of thousands of families each year, leaving many to navigate profound grief and isolation. This service aimed to remind all who attended that they are not alone. Through shared prayer, readings, and music, attendees were able to honour the lives of their children and find solace among others who understand their journey.

‘Saying Goodbye,’ a leading organisation in baby loss support, played a central role in the service. Their mission is to provide comprehensive advice and emotional support to those impacted by baby loss. Their resources offer comfort and practical help to anyone struggling with the loss of a child, from pregnancy through infancy.

Revd Tony Miles, Superintendent Minister of MCHW said: “Today’s service was a poignant reminder of the power of coming together in grief and hope. We are grateful to partner with ‘Saying Goodbye’ in offering a place for families to remember their loved ones and find support during such a difficult time.”

Andy Clarke-Coates of the Mariposa Trust which runs the Saying Goodbye services said: “Baby loss touches more lives than many realise. Our partnership with Methodist Central Hall Westminster allows us to extend a hand to those who need it most, offering compassion and support in a safe and understanding environment.”

For those seeking support, ‘Saying Goodbye’ provides a wealth of resources and a team ready to help. Visit www.sayinggoodbye.org for more information, or contact 0300 323 1350 for personal support.
