Morning Worship Live Stream - Sunday, 4th January

All are welcome to our online Morning Worship service, streamed live from Methodist Central Hall Westminster at 9:30am on Sunday, 11 January 2026.

This service marks the 80th anniversary of the first meeting of the United Nations, held here on 10 January 1946—a moment when a war-weary city opened its doors so the world could gather and speak of peace. This act of hospitality and hope sets the tone as we look ahead to the Civic Service of Thanksgiving on Saturday, 17 January.

The preacher will be Revd Keith Garner, Superintendent Minister of Wesley Mission Sydney. Keith is a Methodist minister, theologian, and public voice on faith in civic life. He has written widely on discipleship, social justice, and the church’s role in public witness, and is known for connecting Christian faith with the pressing moral questions of our time—locally and globally.

The service will be led by the ministerial team at Methodist Central Hall Westminster, with worship, readings, and preaching shaped by memory and responsibility: remembering a defining moment in global history, and reflecting on what it means to live faithfully in a fractured age.

This livestreamed service offers space to pause, to listen, and to locate ourselves within a bigger story—one that links faith, public life, and the hope that shaped the founding of the United Nations eighty years ago.
